Box 1 & 2 each included: 1 headboard, 1 foot board, @ slat roll. Box 3 & 4 each included: 2 side rails, 4 legs, & hardware box. Box 5: ladder & safety rails for top bunk.
I assembled both beds in a couple hours including unpacking & removing a label. The only tool I used was a drill with a Phillips head bit and an Allen head bit (there is an allen wrench provided with the beds too). The beds were quite simple to assemble. They appear to be quite sturdy and don't wiggle or sway.
There is a LARGE warning sticker on each headboard. The sticker is on the back so if you plan to use these as twin beds, the stickers will be against the wall. If you assemble as a bunk, one sticker will be against the wall and the other will be on the top rail, mattress side, of the bottom bunk foot board. I chose to remove this sticker. It is a paper sticker that will not just peel off. I peeled the top layer and then saturated the remnants with alcohol. The rest scraped off easily with a plastic putty knife.
